| Omar’s wrong policies plunging J&K into unprecedented crisis: PDP | | Party to hold protest in front of Assembly on Feb 22 | |
EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 16: Vowing to aggressively pursue the “pro-peace” and “pro-people” agenda, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today declared that it would stage massive demonstrations outside State Legislative Assembly on February 22. The Party has asserted to become voice of the common masses as the party has filled up the political vacuum created after National Conference and Congress forged an alliance. Addressing a meeting convened by newly elected district president Suram Singh in connection with the preparations for scheduled protest rally of the party on February 22, the party leaders exhorted the party workers to educate the masses about policies and programmes being propagated by the party. The leaders, while announcing to hold massive demonstration on February 22 to highlight misdeed of NC led government, they said that State has been plunged into unprecedented crises due to wrong policies being pursued by this dispensation. They said that PDP has pioneered an agenda of peace and development and the party workers would aggressively pursue this agenda to mitigate miseries of the masses. Party leaders further said that it was due to the pro-peace and reconciliatory polices of the party that peace was restored on borders all along from Kathua to Kargil. Lambasting the ruling National Conference for befooling the people during election campaign, the leaders vowed to launch a stir against the coalition regime to implement promises which were made by the common masses during electioneering. “One year performance of this regime is zero as except photo sessions and press releases nothing concrete has been visible on ground,” they observed and every section of the society has been bearing brunt of the wrong policies of this regime. Party vice-president, Trilok Singh Bajwa, general secretary Balbir Singh, former Minister Rangil Singh, MLA Darhal Choudhary Zulfikar, Shanti Devi, Ved Mahajan, A K Sawhney, Suram Singh, Jagjeet Singh Jagga, Deepinder Kour, S K Raina, Choudhary Hussain Ali Bafa, K K Sharma, Mohammed Hanif Choudhary, Chatar Saini, Rafiq Malik, K K Sharma, and others addressed the meeting in which youth wing president Bashir Asad, vice president Rajinder Manhas and secretary Deepu Chib were also present.
