| Coalition following anti-farmers policies: BJP | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 16
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Kissan Morcha has charged the State government with adopting “anti-farmers” policies in Jammu region. In a press statement issued here today, Choudhary Sukhnandan, state president of Morcha and MLA from Marh constituency said that the issue of non availability of urea has been repeatedly taken up with the department but of no use. “Not only this, he himself raised the issue in the District Development Board meeting and the Chief Minister had directed the Deputy Commissioner Jammu to look into the matter and ensure that there is no shortage of urea,” he said, adding that unfortunately nothing has been done so far. He said that it is the dressing season and there is dire need of urea, which is not available in whole of Jammu district and the helpless farmers are forced to buy it from other districts at high rates. He further said the government agencies like JAKFED and Agro Industries have totally failed to pick up the urea from NFL stores and the farmers are made to suffer. The MLA also criticized the Kissan Welfare Board for not paying any attention towards mitigation of the sufferings of the farmers in Jammu region.
