| Anganwari worker’s to demonstrate on Feb 25 | | | Early Times Report JAMMU Feb 16: Anganwari Workers Welfare Association working committee has decided to hold a protest demonstration on 25th February, in front of Divisional Commissioner’s office in support of their pending demands. Interacting with media, President of Association, Swarna Choudhary said that State Government has assured that the demands of Anganwari workers and helpers will be considered at the earliest but more than two months have passed but no decision has been taken by the government yet. She said that this anti employee policy compelled them to intensify the agitation. Highlighting demands, Choudhary said that the demand of increase in salaries to Rs 5000 for Anganwari Workers and Rs. 3,000 for helpers is justified and the government failed to increase the same for the last 24 years. She further demanded to declare government employees at par with Tamil Nadu and Pondichery Government pattern, all allowances viz TA, DA to attend meeting, Teaching Allowance, Additional Allowances for additional work, fuel charges to helper, rent payment, filling of vacant post of supervisor as per seniority, good nutrition at proper time, supply stationery to centers, salary payment on proper time and constitute grievances committee at district and State level. Demands of workers should be considered on priority basis so that justice be extended to weaker section of society. Neelam Sharma General Secretary and Lakshman Ravinder Singh senior leader of Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh also spoke on the occasion.
