| Three weeks refresh course on in JU | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 16: Three week refresher course which was inaugurated by Prof. NA Gani, Dean academic affairs yesterday in the Gian Chand Jain seminar hall of the department of Urdu, University of Jammu is on its full swung. The course in modern Indian languages including Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi, Dogri, and English is being organized by department of Urdu, University of Jammu in collaboration with academic staff colleges Jammu University. Dr. Mohd. Reyaz Asstt. Professor of Urdu delivered participants lecture on Urdu novel in which he in detail talked about the art of Urdu novel and its development in Urdu languages and described Molvi Nazir Ahmed, the first novelist of the Urdu languages. As a resource person professor Shahid Hussain of JNU delivered two thought provoking lecture on Drama. The participants of the course asked a number of questions regarding drama which he replied in a be-fitting manner. Prof. KH Siddqui also delivered a lecture as resource person on the subject “Literature and society” in which she threw light on the relationship of literature with society. The course coordinator and HOD Urdu Prof. Shohab Inayat Malik informed that in coming days number of luminaries of languages would be invited the deliver the lecture to the participants. In this connection the reputed short story writer and novelist of subcontinent Tarnnum Reyaz has been already invited to deliver a lecture on 24th of February 2010. It is pertinent to mention here that university and college teachers belonging to J&K and outside the state are participating in this refresher course.
