Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 16: Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation asked Engineering wing to expedite the work of construction of buildings of wards offices in each ward. JMC had earlier decided to construct ward offices in each ward so as to deploy the field staff, Sanitary Inspector/ Enforcement Inspector, Electrician in the ward office and ensure their presence in the concerned wards to register complaints /grievances and redress the same promptly. Besides this, Intensifying the anti encroachment drive the enforcement staff led by the Chief Enforcement Officer along with police force carried out an Anti -encroachment drive and removed encroachments made by the shopkeepers/ vendors upon parts of roads/footpaths and pavements in the various parts of city like BC Road, Maheshpura Chowk, Bakshi Nagar, Shakti Nagar, Lower Roop Nagar, Janipur, New plot, and Amphalla. During the drive goods/articles were seized like Chairs, Plastic water Tanks, crates, Benches, Tools, Sign Boards, weighing Scale, Oil canters, Milk canters cushions, Counters etc. The Reharies found plying without licenses were also seized and the team also seized about 20 Kgs of Ploythene carry bags from the shopkeepers/vendors in these areas. Also in another move the Enforcement staff also demolished the walls of ongoing unauthorized construction on second floor at BC Road, which was being raised without permission from Jammu Municipal Corporation"
