Srinagar, Feb 16 : Security forces today arrested a Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militant along with arms and ammunition in the frontier district of Kupwara, while two slain ultras of Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT), including a self-styled District Commander, were identified.
Official sources said here that on a tip-off, a naka was set up by the police and Army at Guloora Handwara in north Kashmir district of Kupwara.
During the checking, Abdul Rashid Beig alias Javed Mustafa was arrested along with one pistol with magazine and eight rounds of ammunition.
In a separate incident, a police spokesman identified two militants, killed by security forces at Kulgam as Mohammad Ashraf Sheikh alias Moulvi, District Commander and Mohammad Rouf Bhat.
Two AK-47 rifles, one hand grenade, three magazines, 55 rounds, one dairy, one Quran Sharif, two pouches and one mobile SIM card were recovered from the slain militants, he added.
