| Display Your Talent | | One-act plays’ competition commences | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 17 In the ongoing Display Your Talent being organized by the Department of Students Welfare (DSW), University of Jammu, the ‘One-act plays’ competition commenced here today. Four teams presented their plays titled “Nayaan Raje Da” and “Haasa-Manasaa” in Dogri while “Mangal Pandey” and “Sachchi Mitrata” in Hindi. “Nayaan Raje Da” dealt with the problems, prevalent in the present times including corruption, pollution, global warming, deforestation, dowry and unemployment while the play “Mangal Pandey” highlighted the heroics of the first warrior of independence struggle against the British rule. The plot of “Sachchi Mitrata” revolved around the true friendship of Sudama and Lord Krishna. “Haasa-Manasaa” was out and out comedy which presented the glimpse of a Dogra family caught in the quandary of going ahead with the marriage ceremony of their son or postpones it due to the sudden death of head of the family. Dr Parmeshwari Sharma, who was the Teacher In-charge of this event, apprised the participating teams about the rules and regulations of the contest. It may be mentioned here that the rest of plays shall be presented on February 18.
