| 3 lectures delivered in Refresher course | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 17
On the third day of ongoing three week’s refresher course in modern Indian languages being organized by Department of Urdu, University of Jammu, three extension lectures were delivered today. The first two lectures were presented by poet and writer Pyare Hatash while the third was delivered by Prof MA Wani. Addressing the gathering, Hatash discussed in detail the origin of Urdu language and added that language plays a vital rolein building national integration and communal harmony. In his lecture, MA Wani also spoke at length on the importance of languages and role being played by them in the society. Later, the participants interacted with the scholars and ask them a number of questions regarding various languages including Urdu, Hindi, Dogri and Punjabi. Earlier, Dr Jaya, one of the participants, from Saharanpur presented a paper on ‘Drama’. Prof Shohab Inayat Malik, Head of Department Urdu, presided all three lectures.
