Bhalla assures potable water supply to scarcity areas

JAMMU, FEB17: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla today assured that government’s ample measures to maintain potable water supply in water scarce areas. Interacting with the locals while supervising the starting of laying of drinking water supply pipes near Laxmi Narayan Mandir, Gandhi Nagar at a cost of Rs. 36 lakh, he said that instructions have been issued to PHE department to dig hands pumps in rural as well as urban areas to meet the requirement of drinking water in summer season.
Bhalla said that with the laying of pipes, the drinking water supply would be improved in Gandhi Nagar and its periphery areas. He asked the executing, Economic Reconstruction Agency to complete the work, including restoration of road work by March 10, 2010 to avoid inconvenience to the people. Responding to the Revenue Department issues, as raised by the people, Bhalla said that directions have been issued to junior Patwaris for early disposal of revenue related issues like issuance of Fard, Intikhab, Jamabandi and Tatima, Shajras etc to the applicants after proper verification. He said that authorities have been asked that before issuing the documents, these should be invariably checked, verified and attested by the concerned Naib-Tehsildar and counter signed by Tehsildar. He said the Revenue Officers have been asked to strictly implement the guidelines issued by the Government in Revenue Department Act. Bhalla said that concerned Junior Patwari shall issue the document within seven days from the date of the receipt of the application and shall in no case exceed maximum limit of ten days. He said that if document is not issued by him within seven days, reasons for delay shall be given to higher authorities.
Later, at Satellite Colony in Channi Rama, the construction work of lanes and drains were also started in the presence of the Minister, for which Rs. 9 lakh has been earmarked.
On the occasion, the Minister also dedicated mini bus service facilities to K C Colony, Preet Nagar, Ambedkar Nagar and Gangyal.
