| Workshop on ‘Software Development’ begins | | |
EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 17
A five-day-long workshop on “Hands on Software Project Development” got underway at Government SPMR College of Commerce here today. The workshop has been organised by the Department of Computer Science. The main aim of workshop was to provide practical knowledge of software development in different hardware and software environments. The workshop was formally inaugurated by Hemla Aggarwal, principal of the college who stressed upon the need of such type of professional activities for the students of professional course like BCA, who had to face the challenges of fast growing IT industry. Different resource persons from different universities and colleges of the state had been invited to share their expertise with the students. The topics of the concern were ‘Web Technologies’, ‘Computer Graphics’ and ‘MIS & Data Processing’ based applications. The participants shall be practically trained in making applications like dynamic websites, graphical games using mouse programming etc. Student participants were of the view that such type of activities should be arranged on regular basis and experts from different IT Industries, who are working on live projects, should be called to make such sessions more informative. The faculty from Jammu University as the resource persons for today’s sessions.
