| Two chemist shops sealed | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 18: The enforcement staff of the Drugs and Food Control Organization conducted an extensive tour to Samba and Kathua districts and sealed two unlicensed chemist shops at Bari Brahmana. The traders dealing with medicines were impressed upon to update their competence and ensure the sale of high quality drugs to the ailing masses at reasonable prices. The retail drug sale establishments nearing secondary and tertiary care health centres were impressed upon to switch over to computerization of purchase and sale records to ensure fair and hassle free service to the consumers. The trader fraternity at large has also been directed to ensure sale of Schedule-H drugs strictly against prescription of registered medical practitioners and also observe dress code. All the licenced dealers have been directed to adopt strict dispensing procedures with respect to medicinal preparations containing habit forming drugs. Prescriptions containing such drugs must be stamped as “Dispensed” to avoid repetition by habitual offenders.
