Newly appointed engineers demand release of salaries

JAMMU, Feb 18

The newly appointed junior engineers have demanded release of their salaries which are pending since August 2009.
Addressing media persons here today, the Junior Engineers (Electrical) said that 431 new appointees are without pay for months now which has caused a grave problem for them.
They said that till date none of them was permanently posted by the Development Commissioner Power and their salaries were also withheld.
Aggrieved engineers said that no heed was being paid by the concerned authorities despite their repeated requests adding that they were at the verge of starvation.
They said that despite assurances by the authorities from time to time nothing has been done so far.
