| Workshop on PMEGP held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Feb 18
Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) in association with Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) and Directorate of Industries and Commerce jointly organized a one day state level workshop on Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) here today.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chairman Pahari Development Board, Syed MA Bukhari said that PMEGP is a unique scheme launched by the Prime Minister of India for the welfare and development of youth and unemployed persons.
Addressing the participants, Director KVIC BR Chauhan said that basic purpose of the workshop is to convey the message and latest development in the field of PMEGP to all bankers including RBI, NABARD, SIDBI, DICs and beneficiaries of the programme.
He said that PMEGP is very useful programme for the state as it provides an opportunity to poor and unemployed youth to get employment.
