UDHAMPUR, Feb 18
Tension gripped the Dhar road area here when two groups claiming ownership rights of a shop were involved in a verbal duel.
The matter turned ugly over illegal possession of the shop by a local shopkeeper after breaking its walls.
The real owner identified as Jitender Vermani when came to know that his property has been occupied by a person from minority community with ill intentions, he raised objections with the trespasser.
Supporters of both sides came on spot and heated exchange of words took place for some time but timely intervention of local police officers and representatives from both sections diffused the tension.
Senior police officers along with Tehsildar verified from revenue records and found Vermani as real owner.
Negotiations were held wherein both sides were pacified and it was decided that shop be handed over back to the genuine owner who will in return pay rupees twenty thousand to shopkeeper who had occupied shop and renovated it.
Both the parties agreed upon the decision and dispersed peacefully
