Public Information campaign begins today

JAMMU, Feb 19

The 5-day long 13th Bharat Nirman Public Information campaign being organized by Press Information Bureau, Government of India, in co-ordination with District Administration Udhampur and media units of Information and Broadcasting will commence tomorrow.
This would be the 13th campaign of the series being held in Udhampur district. Earlier 12 such Public Information campaigns were held at RS Pura, Reasi, Kishtwar, Kathua, Bani and Poonch (in Jammu Region), Ganderbal, Kulgam, Budgam and Bandipora (in Kashmir Region) and Leh & Kargil (in Ladakh Region) of the state.
Various state and central government departments, banks, KVIC, corporations, undertakings, organizations, are putting up their stalls to educate the people about various centrally sponsored schemes.
The Public Information campaign is aimed at creating awareness about the flagship programmes of Central Government including Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, National Rural Health Mission(NRHM), National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA), Mid-Day Meal Scheme, Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) besides Bharat Nirman Yojana covering rural roads, rural electrification, rural drinking water supply, rural telephony, rural housing and rural irrigation.
Besides, creating awareness of the centrally sponsored schemes through a multi-media approach by holding workshops and seminars, Resource persons and experts will deliver lectures on the subject.
Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand will inaugurate the campaign at Town Hall, Ramnagar along with Minister for Agriculture Ghulam Hassan Mir and MLA, Ramnagar, Harsh Dev Singh.
