| Jammu lady Rekha will be felicitated in MP | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 19
In recognition to her contribution towards boosting nationalism in militancy infested areas of twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch, a prominent social worker and educationist Rekha Sharma of state will be felicitated by Sangani Group, Madhya Pradesh. Rekha along with 20 other social workers will be felicitated by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister at Ujjain on March 8. In April 2000, Rekha started an institution Swami Premanand Bhartiya Vidya Mandir, Dangri, with the help of intellectuals having nationalistic approach for poor and backward children. It was the period when terrorism was at its peek in Rajouri and Poonch thus forcing several government schools to close and those which remained functional found it impossible to hold morning assemblies wherein national anthem could be sung. It was due to the efforts of Rekha Sharma that besides Jan-Gan-Man and Bharat Mata Ki Jai, Vande Matram was also being sung in some of the private as well as government institutions. She motivated the locals to celebrate Independence Day, Republic Day and National Youth Day in the hilly and terror affected areas of Rajouri and Poonch. Though terrorists tried to intimidate Rekha and attacked her institution twice but such acts of anti-national forces could not shake the brave woman’s determination as she carried her duty taking it as a challenge and worked with renewed confidence.
