| PDP migrant wing highlights demands | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 20 Various problems being faced by the displaced community were discussed in a meeting of the migrant wing of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which was held today under the chairmanship of its President Ashok Bhat. Addressing the meeting, Bhat regretted that state government is unnecessarily harassing the migrant employees who are at verge of their retirement. He pointed out that a large number of migrant employees, especially those of Education Department, have been transferred in remotest areas of Jammu region adding that instead of giving relief to the displaced community, authorities have been harassing them without any reason. Pointing towards other problems being faced by the migrants, Bhat said that employment package announced for displaced Kashmiri Pandits was nothing but eyewash to befool the community. PDP leader said that despite announcing the employment package with much publicity, nothing effective has been done by the authorities to implement this policy. He observed that the package appeared only on papers and not visible on ground. Bhat regretted that instead of simplifying the process of getting job through employment package, the authorities have made this process more complicated. He mentioned there were many discrepancies in the present employment package announced by the government and it was need of the hour to rectify such discrepancies.
