| Khajuria visits Kanak Mandi market | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 20: Former state president of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and MLA Jammu East, Ashok Khajuria today interacted with the senior functionaries of Kanak Mandi Bazar Association. During the interaction, he took strong notice of the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) employees, who, on the pretext of sample collection were harassing the traders and shopkeepers. He said that the JMC or any other team should contact the Bazar Association office bearers, brief them about their visit to the area and then only take up the work of sample collection or making other inquiries from the shopkeepers. He also raised objection over sampling of the registered and branded items. He declared that he has sanctioned funds for proper covering of Nallah passing through Ward Number 11 adding this work will be completed soon. He said that the footpath on both the sides of the Kanak Mandi road has not been constructed properly as a result of which the pedestrians have to face problems. Not only this, the road too is in dilapidated condition and needs urgent attention. The MLA said that he is committed for equitable development of all the areas falling under his constituency and it is in this context that he himself his visiting the different localities of old city to have on this part assessment of the problems and resolve them to the satisfaction of the people of the area. Besides, Bazar Association Office bearers Arun Gupta, Suresh Gupta, Prithvi Raj Gupta and Satish Gupta Shiv Kumar Gupta, Rajesh Gupta, Ramesh Sharma and Pardeep Sharma also accompanied Khajuria during his tour of various localities of Kanak Mandi.
