| Orthopaedic Conference commences at GMC&H | | |

JAMMU, Feb 20
29th Annual Conference of North Zone Chapter of Indian Orthopaedic Association organized by Department of Orthopaedics, Government Medical College & Hospital (GMC&H), Jammu commenced here today.
Minister for Medical Education RS Chib inaugurated the 2-day conference.
Speaking on the occasion, Chib said that the conduct of such conferences, workshops, seminars and presentation of papers by the experts are important for professionals like Doctors, Engineers, Managers and others. He said that deliberations during the conference would help in developing the knowledge of orthopaedic field.
Minister of State for Medical Education, Javid Ahmed Dar, on the occasion, urged for organizing more and more conferences, adding such activities help the young and in-practice orthopaedics in their profession.
Patron of the association, Dr Rajinder Singh highlighted the achievements registered by the Orthopaedic Department of GMC&H.
He said that such conferences help in building a network among the fraternity professional. He informed that about a thousand delegates and legal luminaries across the country and abroad are participating in the conference.
During the conference, five workshops would be conducted besides, delivering of lectures and presentation of papers regarding the subject.
Ministers released a souvenir of the Orthopaedic Department, GMC&H and a book by Dr SK Media.
Besides, Dr VK Pachnanda and Dr VN Sudan were also honoured on the occasion.
Earlier, the function was commenced by ‘Sarswati Vandana’ followed by lighting of traditional lamp by the dignitaries.
Later, the Minister presented mementoes among Orthopaedics who have significantly contributed in the field.
