Milk production up in Bla

Baramulla, October 11 – The milk and egg production has touched 4.50 lakh litres and 1.12 lakh respectively in Baramulla district during the current year.
This was stated at an officers meeting at Baramulla today, presided over by the Deputy Commissioner Baramulla.
The meeting was told that various centers of Animal Husbandry department have treated about 93531 animals against various diseases in the district, while medicines worth Rs. 2.20 lakh were provided to the cattle rearers on 50% subsidy.
The population of milk cows has touched 17384, which include 68920 local and 104920 cross-bred. The Animal Husbandry department performed artificial insemination to 21602 cows.
