| Martyr Sunil paid floral tributes | | | Early Times Report
Kathua 21 Feb: Lt General DS Thakur GOC 9 Corps paid floral tribute and inaugurated the newly constructed Smark in name of martyr Captain Sunil Choudhary at BR Ambedkar besides installed a statue of martyr. Member Parliament Ch. Lal Singh, Ex Power Minister Babu Singh, MLA Charanjit Singh, retd army men, wing commander KA Cariappa, wing commander S Stephen, flight Lt. Ankur Choudhary (younger brother of the martyr), Col. PL Choudhary (father of martyr), Smt Satya Choudhary (mother of the martyr), Col Abrar Ahmad of 7/11GR and Brig MGV Singh of 11GRRC also paid floral tribute and remembered the great young martyr by observing the silence for few minutes on the occasion.
Father of the martyr Col PL Choudhary and mother Satya Choudhary while addressing the gathering with humid eyes and great hearts said that they have three sons one of them is engineer, Ankur is also in air force as flight Lt and Capt Sunil who was born on 22 June 1980 and after completion his graduation he joined the Indian army 2003and got the commission on 2004 and now he was on the rank of Captain posted at Assam as company commander in Gorkha Rifle 7/11 regiment also has held several gun battles with the ULFA militant where he killed two most wanted terrorists and staged himself a big threat for the militants for which he was given the Sena gallantry award on 26th January 2008 in Delhi by the President of India Partibha Patil and second day on 27th of January 2008 he sacrificed himself for the nation during a gun battle between ULFA terrorists and army. They informed only after a month he had to get married. Expressing proud for the scarifies made by their son both parents of martyr felt no sorrow over his sacrifice. They said that he left a valuable message specially for the young generation and entire Indian in general to join the army to root out all anti social elements to protect the mother.
