| Rs. 4 crore Tube Well at Preet Nagar soon: Bhalla | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, FEBRUARY 21-Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Mr. Raman Bhalla today said that the Government, under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister, Mr. Omar Abdullah has taken various historical initiatives to revolutionise the developmental scenario of the State. He said focused attention was being paid to improve the living conditions of the people by providing all basic amenities like safe drinking water and power supply, besides provision of better healthcare, road connectivity and imparting quality education to the children in every nook and corner of the State.
The Minister was speaking after inaugurating double storey Community Hall, with facilities of kitchen, toilet and terrace and culvert link to hall over nallah at Preet Nagar in Digiana, completed at a cost of Rs. 91 lakh
Mr. Bhalla said that on the completion of Community Hall, the residents of Preet Nagar, Model Town and Digiana would be benefited by getting the facility for arranging marriage, social and religious functions on minimal charges. He called upon the people to protect the public property and keep a close watch on developmental works in their respective areas to ensure creation of durable social infrastructure. He said that Coalition Government has launched several welfare schemes for uplifting the socio-economic condition of the weaker sections of the society.
For improving the dinking water infrastructure in Preet Nagar in Digiana and adjoining areas, he said that Rs. 4 crore tube well in the area would be commissioned soon. He asked the PHE department to complete the project within stipulated time frame.
