| NSS workshop concluded at Bhagwati Nagar | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 21: Two days workshop on “Role of NSS In Promoting Primary Education” organized by the National Service Scheme (NSS) units of GGM Science College (both morning & evening) at Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu concluded here today. The workshop was organised by some senior volunteers of GGM Science College under the guidance of Programme Officer Prof V.K. Chandan. On the concluding day of the workshop, the Director Colleges of Higher Education Dr. N.D. Wani was the chief guest. He appreciated the role of NSS volunteers for organizing such programmes and emphasized to guide the depressed section of the society. He also distributed the stationary items and refreshment among the poor children. Dr. Sham Lal Gupta, Principal, GGM Science College was also present on this occasion. He highlighted the achievements of NSS volunteers and revered his blessing and praised upon them. Dr. R.S. Pathania, former Programme Officer was also present on this occasion. It was told to the gathering that the NSS Volunteers of the College taught about 100 children of the depressed society of Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu for about 2 months in groups. The welcome address was presented by Dr. Rajinder Sharma and vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. Vijay Kumar Chandan NSS Programme Officer. Other NSS volunteers who were present included Sumit Kumar Dogra, Mohd Aarif, Vikrant, Partap Singh Jamwal, Sunny Talashi, Seema Pandita, Anjum Tahir, Ripu and Zaffar.
