| Transporters go on indefinite strike | | No vehicles to ply from Panthachowk to Kanmoh from Monday | | SRINAGAR, JULY 23, : Vehicle operators running their services from Pantha Chowk to Kanmoh have decided to go on an indefinite strike from Monday to press for their demand for getting the road from Panthachowk to Kanmoh repaired, which is in shambles. Spokesman of the vehicle operators union told that road from Panthachowk to Khanmoh has been in dilapidated condition for many years. We have approached the concerned authorities on many occasions and have apprised them about the hardships being faced by the residents as well as the transporters, however, till today our pleas have fallen flat on the deaf ears.” Spokesman further said, “in wake of the cold shouldered response from the authorities, we have decided to go on an indefinite strike from Monday, neither buses nor mini buses nor tippers and trucks would ply on this road from Monday onwards.” He added, “ we have taken this extreme step to make the authorities realize that they have got some responsibility towards the residents putting up in the area “
