| Dengue reaches Srinagar; 2 students among 3 patients admitted in SKIMS | | | Srinagar, Oct 11 : At least three patients, including two students of Jamia Milia New Delhi, have been admitted with signs and symptoms of Dengue fever at Shar-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Science, Srinagar. Highly placed sources said that two patients were admitted in the hospital on Tuesday, while another case was reportedly this morning. However, officials believe that the detection of three cases of Dengue fever does not seems to be alarming as all the three patients were temporarily putting up in Delhi, where they first noticed the symptoms. It was reliably learnt that Khan Mudasir of Hiller, Anantnag and Dharial Sameer Ahmed of Habbak Colony Srinagar were admitted at SKIMS on Tuesday with high fever. Medical examination of both the patients revealed that they were showing symptoms of Dengue fever, which sent alarming signals among the medical fraternity in the hospital, sources said. They added that the senior doctors of the hospital were immediately informed who examined the patients and reportedly diagnosed dengue fever. Admitted under MR-D No 441238 and MRD No 441289 in the hospital, the two patients are said to be students of Jamia Milia New Delhi. Doctors attending them told NAK, on the condition of anonymity, that all the symptoms so far lead to the conclusion that they were suffering dengue fever. “However, their condition is much batter now and they were reacting to the treatment”, they added. Sources revealed that another patient, identified as Sheikh Farooq Ahmed, was admitted with same symptoms in the hospital today. Admitted under MRD No 441348, Farooq is resident of Bharampora, Sopore and a fruit businessman.
