| Employment policy nothing but a cruel joke: PDP youth | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 21: Terming employment package announced by the State Government for the educated unemployed youth of the State as mere “eyewash”, the youth wing of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today vowed to take the fight to youths on streets. In the executive committee meeting of the youth wing, a resolution was passed in which the party decided to effectively fight for the cause of youth in general and unemployed educated youth in particular. The meeting observed that youth of the state were anxiously waiting for the government to announce employment policy as the ruling National Conference during campaign of assembly elections had promised the same. The meeting regretted that the employment package announced by the government was nothing but a “cruel joke” with the educated youth. It pointed out that instead of initiating some sincere steps to solve problem of unemployment, the State Government has been trying to hoodwink the educated youth by making false promises. The speakers regretted that the ruling National Conference has been repeating the same blunders which were committed by the successive governments of same party. They claimed that that it was only during the tenure of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed that recruitment process was institutionalized as appointments were made in full transparent manner. State president Bashir Asad, vice president Rajinder Singh Manhas, general secretary Nadeem Khan, Atib Kanth, Shamim Ganai, Ashan Mirza, Anjum Mirza, Gurdeep Singh Panday, Deepu Chib, Shoukat Daing, Shamur Mir, Kirpal Singh and others were present in the meeting.
