Saroori, Bhalla lay foundation of Bathindi- Ratti Sarrari road

JAMMU, Feb 21

Minister for R&B, GM Saroori, in presence of Minister for Revenue and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla, today laid foundation of 4 Kilometer Bathindi- Ratti Sarrari road, passing via Bermini and taken up under NABARD, at a cost of Rs 2.33 crore.
On its completion, the road would benefit 10 thousand population of the area.
Speaking on the occasion, Saroori said that liberal funding by the Centre which has enabled the state to launch a massive developmental programme, would definitely improve the socio-economic status of the people.
Reiterating the resolve of the government to connect every unconnected area, Saroori said that a massive development plan has already been formulated in the state to achieve this objective.
He said that the government would not dither from its commitment to ensure equal development of all the regions of the State.
Saroori said that people have voted Congress for its secular character, adding that communal harmony and brotherhood would be maintained at all costs in the state.
He said people have rejected the communal forces in the country and appealed people to remain cautious from such anti national elements.
Minister said that the utmost priority was given by Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for restoring peace and prosperity in the state.

Responding to the demands of the local people, Saroori assured them that the road would be extended up to the last village in second phase.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhalla, said that no stone would be left unturned in developing the Bathindi area. He said the demand of the people to construct roads, lanes and drains in the area would be conceded in a phased manner.
Bhalla announced that a deep drill tube well is coming up in the area to overcome the water scarcity problem. He assured people that ration cards would be issued to the deserving people living in the area.
Later, R&B Minister visited Brij Nagar, Indra Nagar in R S Pura Tehsil and took stock of the development works and the problems of the people.
Interacting with the people, Saroori assured them that the interior roads would be macadamized shortly and ordered for immediate construction of surface drains in the area.
