| Handicrafts exhibition concludes, arte-facts worth Rs 1.14 cr sold | | |
EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 21: The State level Handloom and Handicraft exhibition jointly organised by Directorate of Handlooms and Handicraft at Urban Haat, Exhibition Grounds concluded here today. A total of sixty marketing outlets and stalls were put up by the participants representing Handloom and Handicraft sector of the State. As many as 60 participants from cooperatives societies, NGOs and individual artisans from all over the State also participated in the exhibition and displayed their products. Registered societies from Ladakh, Poonch, Rajouri, Basohli and other far-flung areas of State also participated and made it a colourful event. A variety of Handloom and Handicraft products like Pashmina Shawls, Kani Shawls, Basohli Shawls, Crewel Embroidered products, Kishtwar Blankets, and woollen products from Rajouri, Poonch Doda and Kargil district were displayed and put on sale. A sale of Rs 27, 77, 168.00 for Handloom products and Rs. 16, 44,128.00 for Handicrafts products was recorded in the exhibition making a total sale of Rs. 1, 14, 21, 295. Certificates to the participants who displayed their products and stalls and who made good sale of their products were given distributed by Director Handicrafts S A Zargar and Director Handloom, Chandra Gupta.
