| Bhalla reviews progress of ERA, NBCC & UEED works | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, FEBRUARY 22-Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Mr. Raman Bhalla today convened a high level meeting of various executing agencies under ERA, NBCC, and UEED and reviewed progress of various ongoing ambitious projects executed in along left and right banks of river Tawi. MLA West Mr. Chaman Lal Gupta, MLA EAST Mr. Ashok Khajuria, MLA Nagrota, Mr. Jugal Kishore, MLA Marh Mr. Sukhnandan, Commissioner/Secretary, Planning and Development, Mr. Bharat Bhushan Vyas, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Deputy Commissioner, Jammu. Mr. M. K. Dwivedi, Vice-Chairman Jammu Development Authority, Mr. Gulzar Ahmed Qureshi and other senior officers of ERA, PHE, R&B, PDD, NBCC, and UEED were present on the occasion.
Interacting with the officers, Mr. Bhalla asked the ERA authorities to complete the ongoing construction works of various projects including Over Head Tanks, Receiving Stations, Tube Wells and laying of water supply pipes within stipulated time. He said that the Government was keen to improve of public health, urban facilities and better living conditions for urban inhabitants. He enjoined upon the executing agencies to speed up the pace of work to achieve the targets and benefit the people at gross roots level. The Minister asked the officers to put their sincere and dedicated efforts for reaching the benefits of Government schemes to the people at the earliest. To enhance sustainable economic growth of main urban centers, he said that Government was making all out efforts to complete 49 new tube wells out of 55, redevelopment of 22 old tube wells out of 38, overhead tanks and ground level service reservoir 54 out 60, 264 km laying of pipes out of 330 km and 16 supply of 9.0/4.0 KL water tankers under lone-1 scheme , completed at the end of this fiscal year. He said that under Lone-2, 20 new tube well and overhead tanks besides 20 ground level service reservoir and 391 km laying of pipes would be also completed by the end of this year.
