| JKSU lambastes JU authorities | | | Early Times Report Jammu , Feb 22 Jammu Kashmir Student Union (JKSU), Ajay Taloor highlighted problem being faced by research scholar in University of Jammu. Taloor said that the state Govt. is planning to enhance the retirement age of university teachers from 60 to 62 years. He also said pervious university council meeting was held on 12 Feb. at Raj Bhavan Jammu has decided to enhance the age of university professor from 60 to 62 years. Taloor said that the university authority misrepresent the item in the council meeting and camouflage the fact that only a few teachers in the university becomes professor and also misguide the council that enhancement of the professor will not affect the educated youth of the state. Taloor said that 99 percent teacher in the university becomes professor. He said that the university authority misguide chief minister who is always determined for the welfare of educated youth of the state. He said that such type of move will directly affect the research scholar of the university. Taloor said that in 12th five year plan of UGC university of Jammu has only got twelve positions for lecturer. He also said that in one stance Govt. is asking for role of young people in Jammu and Kashmir other side they are promoting the cause of age enhancement in the higher institutions. Taloor said that this wrong trend of age enhancement will promote unemployment and feeling of insecurity among the research scholars. Dilbag Singh Gen secretary of the JKSU requested to the CM and Governor of the state for not giving their assent to the unpopular and problematic demand of the university authorities. Vikram Sharma also raise the issue of the examination system of the university and said that the Students of the English, Sociology, Mathematics and various languages department are still waiting for their fourth semester results. He said that the examination system of the university is totally defunct where two years of PG takes more than three years. He said that the university should go for an examination calendar especially for the post graduate courses in the university also requested the authority to declare the pending result with in a week otherwise student students have a no choice other than protest.
