| Five-year-old killed as train hits car | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 22: Even as the family shoved and strained, their Maruti-800 car remained stubbornly wedged against the railroad track at Pallah Morh near Samba as a result of which a train hit it, causing the death of a five-year-old girl. A couple and their two children, including five-year-old daughter Bhumika, were in the car with a driver on the steering wheel. Police sources said when the driver tried to cross the railroad track, the car developed some technical snag and got stuck. They shoved it and tried to push it across the track, but could not, the sources added. The family then heard the whistle of Madras Express. Sources said while the couple, their son and driver fled to safety, Bhumika remained in the car and could not climb out. By the time, the couple could take her out, the powerful train smashed into the car and flipped it off the tracks, resulting in the instant death of Bhumika. The couple hails from Diani village near Samba.
