| India should not resume talks with Pak: BJP | | Says Pak should desist from aiding and supporting terriorists | |
EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Feb 23: CONDEMNING the barbaric act of beheading two Sikh youth in Pakistan by Talibanies, BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas said India should not resume talks with Pakistan till it does not dismantle terrorist camps and stop aiding and supporting the terrorists.
Addressing mediapersons at party headquarters, Manhas urged the Union government to exert pressure on Pakistan to punish the culprits of this inhuman act and also take effective steps aimed at ensuring security of minorities in future. that it is the primary responsibility of every government to protect the life and property of minorities but unfortunately Pakistan government has totally failed to perform its duty.
‘’When sentiments of a community are hurt outside India , it can have adverse impact within the country, resulting in disturbances and violence. The Government of India should not take the matter lightly, and instead, it should convey to Pakistan in clear terms that we will not tolerate attack on minorities, he added.
Manhas disclosed that besides National President Nitin Gadkari, National Vice-President Shanta Kumar, National Secretary Balbir Punj and Celebrity S. Navjot Singh Sidhu will also address public rally at Jammu on February 25, the day when Foreign Secretary level talks with Pakistan are scheduled to resume.
On the occasion, BJP State Secretary S. Charanjit Singh Khalsa said that the killing of Sikh youth is highly condemnable. He reminded the Muslim brethren that Islam does not spread hatred or allow attack on minorities. Islam teaches love with the neighbours. ``If attacks on Sikhs continue in Pakistan or Australia, we will have to think about the security of our community, he warned and urged upon the Indian government to suspend economic ties with both these countries till they do not give a categorical commitment for the security of minorities on their soils, ‘’ he added.
