JWAM demands election schedule for local bodies

JAMMU, Feb 23

Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) has demanded announcement of election schedule for the local bodies.
A delegation of the movement led by its president Sunil Dimple, which called on Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Ali Mohammad Sagar and Chief Electoral Officer BR Sharma, raised the demand.
They also demanded to adopt the rotational policy in reservation of the wards of Jammu Municipal Corporation so that an opportunity could be availed by candidates belonging to any caste or gender.
Urging National Conference and its coalition partner Congress to clear their stand on the implementation of delimitation commission on the floor of the house during the current assembly session, Sunil Dimple questioned that why they are silent over the issue.
JWAM president also demanded district status and bifurcation of Jammu West assembly segment into two constituencies as it is the largest constituency with more than 2 lakhs voters and population of around 10 lakhs.
