| DLF demands hike in PHE daily wagers’ pay | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 23
Dogra Liberation Front (DLF) has appealed the government to hike the remuneration of the daily wagers of PHE department on the pattern of other casual labours working in different departments. Addressing media persons here today, DLF president Rampal Sharma said that the daily wagers in all other departments of the state besides casual employees of PHE deaprtemtn, Kashmir province are getting Rs 110 per day, the rates fixed by the government. He said it is strange that Jammu region’s daily wagers of PHE department are being paid merely Rs 500 and Rs 800 per month despite getting assurances from the erstwhile and present ministers on the floor of the house and outside that all the daily wagers of department would get uniform rate of Rs 110, which has not been implemented so far. Sharma appealed the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to intervene in the matter and instruct the concerned quarters to enhance wages of hundreds of daily wagers of PHE department.
