| ‘Counter stone pelting squad’ | | Sagar dares Mehbooba to prove charges or resign | | Early Times Report
Jammu , Feb 24: In what appears to be political showdown and confrontation at peak between the ruling NC and opposition PDP, the Law minister Ali Mohammad Sagar today dared Mehbooba Mufti to prove the allegations of government creating counter stone pelting squads in Kashmir or else resign. The fiery Minister of National Conference also accused PDP of having stooped low in making baseless allegations and misleading the people on account of what he termed as political bankruptcy and sheer frustration of the leadership of that party.
“I challeneged her to prove if there is any government agency involved in such acts……let her prove what she has said…….If Mehbooba Mufti is able to prove this allegation I will resign but if it turns out to be wrong and baseless she will have to resign”, Sagar said while speaking to media outside the Assembly Hall.It is quite ironical instead of condemning the stone pelters, the PDP is choosing to condemn the government, Sagar said adding that this was just to malign and defame the government on the basis of baseless allegations .
Sagar accused PDP leader of speaking lies and taking the shelter of lies for defaming NC.”Yeh Jhoot Bolney Main Mahir Hain…..Aur Jhoot Ka Sahara Latey Hain”, he said adding that government will fail them in their designs .They are disrupting the proceedings of the Assembly and doing all this for political considerations but we will not allow that happen, he added.
Stating few instances that happened in the past, the Law Minister said NC-Congress coalition under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was more sensitive and concerned over such incidents and the HR abuse in comparison to previous coalition regime.”The swift action in the incident of infant’s death speaks volumes about concern of present government………Omar Sahab is concerned not only about such incients but also keen to settle Kashmir issue besides giving good governance to the state”, Sagar said defending his government from opposition allegations.”Only time will prove his (Omar’s) intentions and work”, he added.
To a question Sagar said government was at its work in containing such incidents of stone pelting.”We are at it and won’t allow few hundred stone pelters to take hostage lakhs of people of the state”.Downplaying the concernof PDP he said they were just playing to gallery.”On one hand one of their leaders in Kashmir is justifying stone pelters and on the other hand the leader of the party is alleging governt of raising counter stone pelting stone….this is ironical”, Sagar lamented adding that sicne the government was nearing exposing the perpetrators of stone pelters, the leaders of PDP are unnerved and frustrated.
Culprits behind infant’s death identified
Jammu: The State Government today stated in the Assembly that the two persons responsible for the death an 11 day infant in Rafiabad area of Baramulla district under tragic circumstances have been identified and will be arrested in a day or two.
“The two persons have been identified and police even reached their homes from where they were found absconding”, the Law Minister Ali Mohammad Sagar said while giving statement over the factual details of the incident in the House today.He said that several places were raided to nab them and tough action would be taken against them after arrest.
