| APJAC holds meet, put forth demands | | | Early Times Report

A meeting of All Party Joint Action Committee (APJAC) was held at Sunderbani and various demands were discussed and stressed upon the government to fulfill the same demands, here today.
Their demands include a Degree College (Co-Education) for Sunderbani tehsil. It is pertinent to mention here that when former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad had agreed in the public rally held at Sunderbani in April 2007 regarding sanctioning of college.
Other demands were a new district with the Headquarter at Siot (Sunderbani) for Sunderbani, Nowshera & Kalakote a common place falling on the National Highway Jammu -Poonch to be sanctioned. The 30% population of other tehsils i.e Akhnoor, Reasi, Budhal, Kalakote &_Nowshera also depends on Sub District Hospital. Sunderbani for medical facilities/ Aid and the same needs to be upgraded as District Hospital. Also well as Blood Bank and Trauma centre be provided there. In the light of Wazir Commission report /recommendations he some area of Tehsil Akhnoor & Tehsil Reasi was to be attached with the Sunderbani Tehsil which falls within the range of 0-18 kms away from the Sunderbani the same to be attached soon.
They also demanded a separate Sunderbani Assembly constituency to be created and sanctioned for the development of tehsil Sunderbani, the treasury of Higher Secondary School Devak and High School Bambliya (Tehsil Sunderbani) needs to be restored from Pouni Treasury (Tehsil & District Reasi) to Sunderbani treasury. It is further added that during the last six years 8 districts, 3 sub-districts, 12 tehsils as well as 41 degree colleges have been sanctioned in the J&K state but Sunderbani tehsil had been ignored in all respects. It is stressed upon the government to constitute a commission who would decide the district HQ of the three tehsils, i.e. Sunderbani, Nowshera and kalakote having a good population as well as area also a common place proposed at Siot on the national highway Jammu – Poonch.
