JCC to protest on demands, likely to gherao Assembly on Feb 20

Jammu, Feb 24:

A joint press conference addressed by leaders of JCC, an amalgam of EJAC's, headed by S. Jaswant Singh, S. Popinder Singh and G.L. Chand, Provincial Presidents was held at Jammu.

The leaders showed their anguish over the callous attitude of the Government for not conceding the, genuine and agreed demands of the employees. They said that the government was back tracking from his own commitments made with JCC last year. As per the agreement, all the conceded demands were to be settled before 31st Oct., 2009 but Govt had miserably failed in its commitment.

After series of protest demonstrations, the JCC unanimously decided to gherao the Assembly on February 20. They, meanwhile, appealed to the employees of JK State in general & Jammu Province in particular to assemble at Id-Gah near Hari Singh Higher Secondary School, Jammu at 10.30 am where the employees will proceed to Secretariat for Gherao & further course of action will be announced there. Their main demands include release of arrear of 6th Pay Commission in favour of employees, conversion of COLA to DA in favour of Public Sector undertaking, regularization of all contractual, daily rated, adhoc and consolidated employees. Other demands include removal of pay anomalies of all cadres, enhancement of retirement age from 58 to 60, uniformity in HRA, 21 years of qualifying service for pensionaries benefits.

Those who addressed the conference are Ganesh Khajuria, Kulwant Singh, Dev Anand Gill, Balwinder Singh, Ravi Singh Bhau, CK Sudan, Dharminder Singh, Shahid Hussain, Banarsi Dass, Farid Ahmed Fani, Jagmohan Sadhotra, Suresh Sharma, Narinder Singh, Gopal Singh, Rarijit Singh, Anoop Sharma, Satnam Singh.
