| Give Indian citizenship to Sikhs in Pak: NSF | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 24
Chairman of National Sikh Front (NSF) S. Varinder Jeet Singh has demanded from the Indian Government that they should give Indian citizenship to the minority Sikhs based in Pakistan as Pakistan Government has failed to provide them proper security as Citizens of Pakistan.
He said that if the Indian Government has started the surrender policy for those who hold the gun against India, then they should also give permanent citizenship to the Sikhs of Pakistan.
He has condemned the decision of Pakistan Government to reduce the days of pilgrimage to Panja Sahib from three days to one day only.
He said that at the time of partition minorities on both sides of the border were given assurance that they will be given full security and treated as citizens of the country. But the records show that the population of minorities in Pakistan has reduced from 20 per cent to 2 per cent now and in India it has grown from 12 percent to 24. It is clear from this that minorities are not treated well in Pakistan.
