Jammu, Feb 24:
A programme on environment was held under the banner of National Environmental Awareness Campaign 2009-2010 on climate change organised by Jagriti Mahila Udyog Kendra at Cybernetic Secondary School, Bandhu Rakh Road, Kunjwani, Jammu.
Besides the management of the school, the function was attended by a good number of students.
Gurdeep Singh, Principal of the school, was the chief guest on the programme. Those who spoke on the occasion were Manisha Piken, 1st Riya Gupta, 2nd Sonika, 2nd Samiya Jan 3rd and Janavi 3rd were adjudged Ist, 2nd and 3rd respectively.
The speakers explained in depth the factors responsible for the climate change which include continental drift, volcanoes, occean currents, excess use of fossil fuels, massive deforestation mining, land fills, burning of vegetables, coal mines natural gas fields, excess use of fertilizes etc.
Suman Kapil, President, National Youth child and women empowerment society was the guest on the meet while speaking on the topic stressed the need of taking part in such type of activities to eradicate the evil of global warming out of the globe.
In the end of programme, vote of thanks was presented by Veena Bakshi president Jagriti Mahila Udyog Kendra.
