| Training prog for prison officials concludes | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 24
A three- day training programme for prison officers was organised by J&K Prisons department in collaboration with BPR&D, MLA, Government of India on “seeing is learning” . The valedictory function presided over by MM Khajooria, IPS ,(retired DG Police).
The training programme which commenced on Febraury 22. at district jail, Amphalla, Jammu was based on lectures on different topics of prison administration by the experts in the field and sharing of experiences among the prison officers/ officials across the country.
In his valedictory address, Khajooria focused on the reforms and innovations in the prisons of the state and stressed that the prison department of the state should serve as a beacon light for rest of the country. He also lauded the efforts- made by prisons administration to introduce new schemes and innovations.
Khajooria emphasised on the need for ensuring that the energies of inmates must be properly channelized. Later, he distributed certificates amongst the 16 trainee officers in the presence of Dr Ashok Bhan.,DGP ,Prisons.
The valedictory function of the training programme was attended by regional director, IGNOU, representatives of ICRC, some social workers beside a large gathering of prison officers and participants.
