| NSUI burns effigy of Pak govt, protests killing of Sikhs | | | Early Times Report JAMMu, Feb 24
TO mark a protest against the beheading of Sikh youth in Pakistan, a large number of activists of National Students Union of India (NSUI) gathered at the Jammu University campus, here today.
Shouting anti-terrorism and anti-Pak slogans and slogans like wake up United Nations and Human Rights Commission, the activists led by Raj Kamal Arya, State general secretary, incharge Jammu University and Rajveer Singh Manhas. President Jammu University gathered at the fountain Plaza in the University Campus. Later. they marched out of the University gate and blocked the vehicular movement for about an hour and also burnt the effigy of the Pakistan government.
Speaking on the occasion, Raj Kamal Arya, condemned the killing of the Sikh youth in Peshawar, Pakistan. He appealed the United Nations and the Human Rights Commission to wake up from the deep slumber and intervene in Pakistan. He asked the United Nations Human Rights Commission as to why they were silent over the killings in Pakistan. He criticised the Pakistan government to let the terrorists operate from their land and appealed it to close all the terrorist centres active in Pakistan. He also asked them to act against Taliban and curb them once for all.
In his statement, Rajveer Singh Manhas appealed the International community to pressurize the Pakistan Government to act against the terrorist camps actively operating in Pakistan. He also appealed to the International community to declare Pakistan as a terrorist state. He also demanded immediate action as to ensure the safe release of the computer engineer Robin Singh who was kidnapped in North East Pakistan last Friday.
Later, the NSUI activists observed a two minutes silence in the memory of the Sikhs killed in Peshawar and prayed for their souls to rest in peace.
