| SCEF urges Guv to give direction to JU authorities on Kaith’s appointment | | | Early Times Report

The J&K Scheduled Caste Employees Forum (SCEF) held a meeting here, today, wherein SC employees from all departments participated.
Members said during the annual function of Jammu University Non-Teaching Employees Union held on May 1, 2008 at Zorawar Singh Auditorium, former Vice Chancellor Professor Amitabh Mattoo speaking on the occasion had publicly announced that he would settle the long pending appointment case of Mr. R.L. Kaith and appoint him as Assistant Registrar in the University.
He said that even the present incumbent Prof Varun Sahni when he accorded audience to Kaith on July 7, 2009 too assured him that he would personally meet the Chancellor and get a supernumerary post of Assistant Registrar created to appoint him.
The members alleged that they fail to understand as to why the University authorities are not ready to compensate Kaith when the High Court of J&K too, has given direction to them to consider him to the post of Assistant Registrar.
Members said that a number of varsity Scheduled Caste employees despite being eligible to get the benefit under two-tier scheme, have intentionally and deliberately been ignored by the JU administration.
Members criticised the callous attitude of JU authorities and passed a resolution to approach the Governor N.N. Vohra, Chancellor, University of Jammu)for requesting his intervention into the matter.
