| Couple assaulted near Central Jail, golden chain cash looted | | | EARLY TIJMES REPORTER

In a broad day light a couple was attacked and were deprived of a golden chain and cash, besides injuring them seriously near Central Jail here today.
According t reports one Kewal Krishan S/o Girdhari of village Siot, (Suderbani) along with his wife Neelam Kumari and child were returning after meeting the mother lodged in the Central Jail. Suddenly they were attacked by some un-known youth riding on a motor cycle and others were in a vehicle and start beating them in the scuffle they were seriously injured. Even the persons sitting in the vehicle tried t kidnap mother and child, but failed on their attempt as both husband and wife drew the attention of passer by their noise, and the assaulters ran away, but took away golden chain and cash amounting Rs 7000 from them.
Kewal Krishan, according to source informed the police about the whole incident and also gave them the registration number of the vehicle, which later on was seized in a raid .police, is investigating the case and while filling this report no arrest has been made.
In another incident at Udhampur, general secretary of Minibus Union, Rakesh Bharti was seriously injured by some persons with sharp weapons. Being seriously injured he was rushed to hospital by his friend and passerby. Later on he was shifted t GMC hospital Jammu for special treatment. Police is investigating the matter.
