| Selection of 9 lecturers challenged | | HC restrains respondents for giving effect of selection | | Early Times Report Jammu, February-25 (JNF):- Justice Virender Singh of J&K High Court Jammu Wing in a petition challenging the selection of 9 lecturers sociology in 10+2, has issued notice to State of J&K through Commissioner/Secretary to School Education Dept, Secretary Public Service Commission and nine selected lecturers. Justice Singh after hearing Advocate Sachin Sharma appearing for the petitioner ordered that until further orders, selection of private respondents, but respondent No 6 who otherwise figured at serial No 4 in the select list under the category of open merit, shall not be given effects. In the petition, it has been submitted that to knowledge of the petitioner, the Public Service Commission while making the impugned selection did not adhered to the procedure prescribed under rules. That the public service commission never appointed/ engaged any expert to conduct the viva-voce test of the short listed candidates, that to the information of the petitioner it is only the Chairman of the commission along with one of the active member of the PSC, who has conducted the interview in a most bias and arbitrary manners. That neither the Chairman nor the member of the commission is an expert in the field of the sociology and on this ground also the whole selection conducted by PSC is liable to be strucked down and prayed for quashment of the selection list of the lecturer of sociology and also seeking direction to the respondent to appoint the petitioner to the post of lecturer 10+2 sociology.
