“The then Finance and Planning Minister would often boast of his competence on financial matters……but I wonder where and how the funds have disappeared”, Omar said while replying on motion of thanks on Governor’s address citing various heads under which the funds came from the Union government during previous coalition period. However, he chose not to mention the name of the minister.

He also criticized Congress for having chosen to show magnanimity in respect of giving two vital departments like Finance and Planning for for entire tenure during their alliance in the previous regime with PDP. The chief minister said even as his government wants to construct new hospitals, schools and colleges, they are unable to spend the whole amount because of these lapses made by the previous regime.”But even under given circumstances I would mean business and do justice with the people of the state”, he asserted, adding that his government is sure that new policies on containing unemployment and other measures aimed to provide succour to people would prove fruitful.
