| SAD-Badal delegation calls on CM | | |

JAMMU, Feb 26
A delegation of state unit of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD)- Badal today called on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to apprise him of the celebration arrangements of 300th Victory Day (Vijay Divas) of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur.
During their interaction with the Chief Minister, the delegation comprising SGPC Chief Avtar Singh Makkar and MLC and Chairman State Gurdwara Parbandhak Board TS Wazir extended him an invitation to participate in this historic event at Fateh Garh Sahib in Punjab to be held on May 14 to which he readily agreed.
Chief Minister also gave his consent to flag off the Victory March from Jammmu on May 12 which will commence from Rajouri, the birth place of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur on May 11 besides agreeing to give land for the construction of a Gurdwara at Rajouri in the name of Baba Banda and a technical institution.
It was also agreed that two gates one each at Lakhanpur and Rajouri will be erected in the memory of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur- a great warrior and first Sikh ruler who established the Sikh rule and issued Nanak Shahi coins
Earlier, a meeting of SAD activists held under the chairmanship of its state President Mohinder Singh in presence of Minister for Agriculture, Punjab government, Sucha Singh Langeh discussed the modalities of the celebrations.
