NCP hails Union Budget-2010

JAMMU, Feb 26:

State unit of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has welcomed the Union Budget-2010.
In a press statement issued here today, State NCP Chief and Former Minister Thakur Randhir Singh said in a statement that the Union Minister for Finance Pranab mukherjee has given right direction to country’s economy with growth trajectory at 9 percent where fiscal changes are very significant for common man and providing 2 percent subsidy on farmer loan to extend farm loan for six months and providing social security funds for the first time to the unorganized workers is a welcome step.
The Finance Minister has encouraged foreign investments which will open avenues for more employment generation, said Randhir Singh
Singh also appreciated for allowing more private parties to open new banks and opening a bank branches in small villages with less than two thousand population, which will ultimately help the small farmers and the small entrepreneurs. Singh however demanded withdrawal of price hikes of petroleum products.
Singh termed the walk out of opposition members in parliament while the Finance Minister was presenting the budget as unconstitutional, pre-planned and it has happened for the first time in the history of the Indian parliament.
He also congratulated Mamta Banerjee for presenting a very balanced railway budget and has covered a lot of areas of J&K including making Jammu railway station a world class railway station and announcing new railway line for Jammu to Poonch-Rajouri, Kathua to Kishtwar and also railway line from Mandi to Leh.
