Terror Victims hold a massive protest against discrimination

Jammu, Feb 26: Terror victims of Jammu province under the banner of Terrorism Affected People,s Front today hold a massive protest rally from Indra chowk to Shallamar Chowk today before being stopped by the Police &
CRPF near Karan Bhawan.Protesters were raising slogans against the state govt. for neglecting the terror victims of Jammu Province.Large number of people from Poonch Suronkote Mhender Rajouri Kishtwar Doda Badherwa Ramban Banihal Reasi Mahore Billawar and Bani took part in the rally.Rally was headed by its conveners Mohd.Farooq Mir,Dr.Mumtaz Hussain Shah Bukhari' Rajeev Charak and Vibodh Gupta.
Addressing the protesters Mohd. Farooq Mir said that the state Govt.has totally neglected the terror affected area of the Jammu province.our people have suffered badly.More than 15thousand families
were forced to migrate and over 50thousand families get affected during the period of terrorism in jammu provance.Hundreds of people were killed in these areas which shattered the economy and development of these areas.He said govt has paid no attention towards the terror victims of Jammu Province since 1990, our people are still living like slaves.Mr.Mir warned the govt.that if our demands were not fulfilled affected people will start a massive agitation.
Dr.Mumtaz Hussain Shah Bukhari(Incharge Rajouri-Poonch) said that people had faced lot of atrocities especially the women and girls have suffered a lot during the period of terrorism.About 80percent cases
under SRO-43 are stilling pending,affected area has no developmental projects,SPO,s
have not been given their rights. Govt. has treated these people as second class citizens.To draw the attention of state govt.for terror victims we have decided to take out a protest rally to civil
secretariat to ghero the state assembly.
Vibodh Gupta while addressing the rally accused the successive Governments for neglecting the terror affected people of Jammu Province .He said govt. should announce a special package for this
affected area and Rs,3 lag be given to the victimised families and reservation of seates to their children in educational institutions and professional collages .Rajeev Charak, Sunil Sharma, Janki Nath,
Ravi Badyal, Mohd.Aslam Kohli of migrant front and Mohd.Beig also addressed the protesters.
Meanwhile Chief Minister Omar Abdullah invited leaders of the front to discuss their demands. A delegation comprising Mohd.Farooq Mir, Dr.Mumtaz Hussain Shah Bukhari Vibodh Gupta, Rajeev Charak and Mohd.Aslam Kohli met the CM in civil Secretariat and gave him a memorandum of demands.After listening the leaders CM has assured us for full co-operation said Vibodh Gupta.
