| Annual IQAC meet held in GCW Parade | | Sohail inaugurates add-on course in journalism | |

The annual meeting of IQAC held today at Govt. College for Women Parade under the chairmanship of Prof. Indira S Rathore, Principal GCW Parade. The action plan for the year 2006-07 was finalized for the fields of academics, extra curricular activities and infra structural up gradation.
Prof. Rathore, after delivering the welcome address briefed IQAC members about the achievements of the year 2005-06 in the light of the plan set at the commencement of academic session. The members deliberated the action plan for the next year in detail and the college noted the suggestions mooted for the implementation of different measures. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. M R Puri expressed satisfaction over the exercise of student’s assessment of teachers started by the college and sanctioning of the Arts Block. The other members who attended the meeting included Prof. Shashi Koul, Prof. Anita Sharma and Prof. P Bambroo. Prof. Veena Pandita Coordinator IQAC thanked the members for their valuable suggestions.
In another event held at the college, Chief Guest Sohail Kazmi, Gen Secretary Press Club inaugurated a course on Journalism in college. Prof. Indira S Rathore was presiding the function. In her inaugural address, she opined that technological advancements has made it imperative for the Journalism to acquire technical know how of sensing, screening and projection of news. Keeping in view the changing scenario, the college has started a course on Journalism. All the faculty members of the course were also present on the occasion. A Rangoli competition was also held in the college, in which number of college students took part.
