| Gupta assails return, rehabilitation of ultras across LoC | | | Early Times Report Jammu , Feb 27: Assailing the move for return and rehabilitation of the ultras from across the Line of Control and border with Pakistan, the former Union Minister and the leader of the BJP Legislators Party, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta has observed that the move was not only against all the ethics and law of the land but was also contrary to the national interests and sovereignty of the country in Jammu and Kashmir especially when the proxy war launched by Pakistan is still going on and there is no let up in inimical designs. He suggested that these ultras should be settled in Pak-occupied Kashmir itself as the Home Minister, P. Chidambaram has rightly said that PoK is part of Jammu and Kashmir, which is an integral part of India. But allowing the illegal crossers of enemy held areas to have trainings and weapons for subverting the unity of country, is a very serious matter and their return would also lower the sovereignty and Indian claims over the PoK but if these elements are settled with a package on other side, this would restore some what sovereignty of the country in those areas also. Prof. Gupta further suggested that not only the said "estrayed" youths but even those elements should be asked to get settled in areas illegally occupied by the invaders who are clamoring for Azadi, Self-Rule and Autonomy with all the options open there but in the rest of Jammu and Kashmir there should be free flow of Indian constitution as during the past over 60 years under the so-called special status the people of the state have been denied even their basic democratic rights and under communal and other such like considerations the regional disparities have been created resulting in tensions amongst the various sections of people coupled with numerous other problems. He said this would also help the protagonists of Azadi, Self-Rule and that of Autonomy to experience that whether their likings were right or wrong and the people of this side would get the opportunity to enjoy the rights and liberties enshrined in the Indian Constitution. These observations were made by Prof. Gupta while addressing a meeting of the party activists to review the impact of the visit of the BJP National President, Nitin Gadkari and his observations made at the massive public rally at Parade ground on Thursday and yesterday at his press conference before leaving back to New Delhi. At the meeting the party activists voiced their full agreement and guidance given by their national president and the activists looked very much emboldened with the assurance by Gadkari that the nationalists in Jammu and Kashmir would not find alone in their any struggle against secessionism and other controversial moves of the rulers of New Delhi as also those of the State but the entire country would be at their back in the fight for unity and integrity of the country. Prof. Gupta also gave a resume of their yesterday meeting with the Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution and hoped that the enhanced rations from 35 KGs to 40 KGs including 30 kgs of wheat Atta and 10 kgs of rice would be made available to the rationees and steps would to taken to supply the kerosene from next week but the experiences of the past needs much improvement in the entire Public Distribution System to over come the problems of black marketing and other draw-backs.
